Join this extended expedition that allows you to experience the vast marine wildlife of the ecosystems surrounding two islands and a beautiful remote atoll of the Tuamotus. French Polynesia offers some of the most diverse wildlife observations in the world, with natural sightings of rare species such as the critically endangered oceanic white tip shark, the endangered great hammerhead, and the phenomenon of the human-interaction seeking bottlenose dolphins of Rangiroa. You will explore the many ecosystems of French Polynesia including the dramatic deep waters of the oceanic pelagic zone, the turquoise lagoons, stunning reef systems, remote baby shark nursery zones, lagoon-ocean pass ledges teeming with life and biodiversity, seabird nesting sanctuaries, and the lost islands of a remote atoll. INCLUDES

  • 6 full days on the water; 2 days of SCUBA and 4 days of freediving/snorkeling

You will experience:

  • the crystalline waters of the sand bottom lagoon including a personal encounters with pink whipray stingrays and blacktip reef sharks

  • drift through a channel towards the outer reef to observe spotted eagle rays and grey sharks beneath you in the pass

  • the search for pelagic observations with cetaceans including spinner dolphins, rough toothed dolphins, pilot whales, beaked whales & a chance to encounter pelagic shark species including oceanic white tip sharks and silky sharks at offshore FADs

  • outer reef shark aggregates with black tip reef, white tip reef, grey reef, lemon, and nurse sharks

  • full day Tahiti expedition aimed towards tiger shark encounters with a likelihood of multiple species including black tip, grey reef, nurse, lemon, white tip, and more

  • scuba diving in a remote atoll to observe incredible fish and shark biodiversity, the seasonal great hammerhead shark, and resident bottlenose dolphins

  • a visit to lost islands in a remote atoll where seabirds find sanctuary for their young as well as the surrounding waters providing as refuge for baby shark nurseries

  • life in the remote Tuamotus, one of the most beautiful and isolated places on earth

  • the mountainous, dramatic scenery of Mo’orea and Tahiti islands

Day 1: Arrival to French Polynesia (Airport code PPT). Transfer to Mo’orea island and check in to accommodation. Afternoon island exploration and visit to scenic points and waterfall.

Day 2: Full day freedive/snorkeling private charter Mo’orea wildlife excursion

Day 3: Full day freedive/snorkeling private charter Tahiti wildlife excursion

Day 4: Transit flight to Rangiroa. Check in to accommodation.

Day 5: Full day SCUBA private charter in search of great hammerheads and bottlenose dolphins of Tiputa pass.

Day 6: Full day freedive/snorkeling private charter to incredible biodiverse reef ecosystem, private remote lagoons and islands, and more

Day 7: Full day SCUBA private charter in search of great hammerheads and bottle nose dolphins of Tiputa pass.

Day 8: Full day freedive/snorkeling private charter to the pelagic in search of offshore shark, fish, and cetacean species.

Day 9: Transit flight to Papeete for departure
