THIS EXPEDITION WILL INTRODUCE YOU TO LARGE TIGER SHARKS AT THE INFAMOUS TIGER BEACH, THE BAHAMAS.
DESCRIPTION
You will experience:
the crystal clear waters and varying ecosystems of Tiger Beach, from seagrasses to coral reefs
multiple species of sharks: tiger, lemon, nurse, bull, Caribbean reef, and potentially great hammerheads.
the large, beautiful tiger shark up close and personal with an experienced crew focused on guest and shark safety
*Open water SCUBA certification necessary
Tiger Beach is one of the most infamous shark diving spots in the world. Seen a documentary on tiger sharks? Chances are you were watching sharks from Tiger Beach. It is also a critical spot for research on tiger shark ecology, reproduction, and behavior. Tiger Beach is a large sand bank 2 hours offshore where tiger sharks patrol the shallow sandy waters, coral reefs, and seagrass beds. You can experience multiple tiger sharks at once during this dive, as well as other shark species such as lemon sharks, reef sharks, bull sharks, nurse sharks, and great hammerhead sharks.
Private charter of only EIGHT guests compared to the normal shared charter of 14+ divers! Allows each guest more space as well as allowing more comfort for the sharks to come closer and in greater numbers.
PLEASE NOTE: Ladyshark Expeditions is very focused on ensuring all of our adventures are offered in the most ethical way possible. This not only applies to the wildlife encounters, but applies to the priority to humans as well. We will be directly supporting the Bahamian economy and the hard work of the local shark diving operator of this area by diving with the one and only Neal Watson Bimini Scuba Center. We believe in locals first and supporting the Bahamian operated business with a Bahamian crew. The expertise of the sites, the animals, and the methodology perfected by the team after decades of experience is unparalleled and we are honored to offer this expedition in partnership with them. THIS IS A BAITED EXPERIENCE AND INCLUDES SHARK FEEDING. SCUBA CERTIFICATION OF PADI OPEN WATER OR EQUIVALENT REQUIRED.
By continuing our locals first commitment and directly supporting the Bahamian economy, we will be LAND BASED for this expedition. This IS NOT A LIVEABOARD trip. Being land based rather than crammed into bunkbeds on a liveaboard boat is always more comfortable (big air conditioned suites, pool, beach, fishing, kayaking, restaurant, bar, etc at the resort) and also allows those with family/partners that won't be diving to come along to enjoy the resort at no additional cost since it is PRIVATE accommodations for each booking. If you choose to bring family/partners along to enjoy the resort, please note they will NOT be allowed to join onboard for the diving unless they have also paid for a spot on the expedition. If you are sharing a room with a partner/friend/family member that is also joining the expedition for diving, you will receive a discounted rate. Being land based also puts money directly into Bahamian economy by supporting local and showing the revenue and importance brought by the shark sanctuary.
